At Neebageesis Beadwork, we believe in the uniqueness of each product, reflecting the individuality of its owner. Therefore, we do not remake pairs. Each item is crafted with care and attention to ensure its distinctiveness.

Bijoux Mikis

Yes, we are regularly replenishing our stock to meet customer demand. However, please note that this option is not available for custom orders, as they are specially designed according to each customer's individual preferences.

I would like to commission a pair that looks exactly like this pair I found on xyz site, can you make it for me?

Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce exactly the models or products of other sites. Our commitment to originality and creativity leads us to design unique and distinctive products. If you're interested in a specific piece by another artist, we encourage you to contact them directly to inquire about purchasing or ordering their work, but we'd be delighted to discuss your preferences and create a customized pair that matches your unique style. Contact us to discuss your ideas and requirements, and we'll do our best to provide you with a customized option that fully satisfies you.

As a non-Indigenous person, is it cultural appropriation buying and wearing your beadwork?

No, through wearing our pieces, individuals not only appreciate and celebrate Indigenous cultures but also actively support and encourage Indigenous artists, fostering a community of creativity, respect, and collaboration. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us for a more in-depth discussion.

Do you give beading workshops?

Yes, we do offer beading workshops! If you're interested in hosting one, please email us with all the details, including the date, time, honorarium, expected number of attendees, and any other pertinent information.

Please note that our workshops typically accommodate a maximum of 10 participants per instructor. However, if you expecting more than 10 attendees, an assistant fee will be added to the invoice for a maximum of 20 participants. Workshops generally run between 2 to 3 hours and a material fee will be added to the honorarium. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to refuse any workshop request.

We look forward to hearing from you and discussing the possibility of hosting a beading workshop together!

Will you consider partnering with/selling at markets or other stores?

Our priority will always be to support Indigenous-owned stores and markets organized by Indigenous communities. While we appreciate your interest, we prioritize partnerships that align with our values. If you believe your market or store fits this criteria, please send us an email with all the details. We’ll carefully review your proposal and get back to you as soon as possible.

If I make a bulk order for my shop, can you offer me a discounted price?

While Neebageesis Beadwork and Bijoux Mikis are part-time passion projects for us, we deeply value our time and work. Your support not only encourages indigenous artists but also helps us cover our expenses and bills. While we don't typically offer discounts on bulk orders, we assure you that every purchase directly supports our craft and livelihood. Thank you for considering Neebageesis Beadwork and Bijoux Mikis for your shop, and feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or specific needs.

Why are your prices so high?

We are both small businesses that prioritizes quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing in every aspect of our products. We source our materials not only from local businesses, but also from Indigenous-owned businesses. Our prices reflect the value of these principles, as well as the time, skill, and dedication that goes into creating each item. We believe in fair compensation for our work and ensuring that every product meets our high standards of craftsmanship and integrity. Additionally, by purchasing from Neebageesis Beadwork and/or Bijoux Mikis, you're not just buying a product – you're investing in a piece of art that supports indigenous craftsmanship and contributes to the preservation of traditional knowledge and culture. The funds we generate also contribute to our way of life as a small business.

Why do the prices vary so much between Neebageesis Beadwork and Bijoux Mikis?

Neebageesis Beadwork and Bijoux Mikis are two independent beadwork businesses operated by separate artisans. While we share a website and promote each other on social media, we each have our own unique materials, techniques, and expertise, which can result in variations in pricing. Factors such as the cost of materials, intricacy of design, and time required for crafting each piece influence the final price. We strive to offer fair and competitive pricing reflective of the quality and craftsmanship of our respective work. Thank you for supporting both of our businesses and the indigenous artisans behind them.
